Thinking back on it, it’s still amazing how I managed to roll into the Yu Yu Hakusho fandom. I didn’t have access to the manga… the show never aired on television. Still, I was drawn to it and that chemistry was never lost.
I especially love Hiei and Yukina, both individually and as siblings. Their relationship is so special; the struggles they’re willing to endure, while walking on the edge of darkness. Hiei going through the implantation of the Jagan eye to find his sister, Yukina getting captured and then tortured for years after traveling to the human world looking for her brother. And when they do finally meet face-to-face, it’s still a cocktail of secrets, desperate hope, inner conflict and unconditional love.
One of the best parts of their designs is that, despite the fact of how different their are, Togashi gave them many similar physical features. They have the same build, are a similar height and their eye colour is the same crimson. That always made me a happy puppy =3
Spend a long time sketching this one… kinda sad that the colours aren’t as elaborate as I’d like, but my shitty laptop won’t allow for more without blowing up -sad -
